Senior Financial Tax Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Tax Specialist to join our team, responsible for the preparation and review of complex financial services client tax returns.

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in taxation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure during busy season.
About the Role

This is a challenging opportunity for a seasoned tax professional to leverage their expertise and contribute to the success of our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Preparing and reviewing detailed tax returns for hedge funds, private equity, and fund of funds clients, including blocker corporation returns and S-corporation returns.
  2. Reviewing state returns for financial services clients and identifying international filing requirements based on organizational charts and tax return reviews.
  3. Providing training and guidance to junior staff members on tax concepts, technology, and best practices.
  4. Serving as a subject matter expert for tax-related matters and collaborating with colleagues to ensure accurate and timely completion of projects.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must possess:

  • Strong technical knowledge of tax laws and regulations, with a focus on financial services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients at all levels.
  • A proven track record of delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines and within budget constraints.
  • The ability to learn new tax software and systems quickly and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring junior staff members, with a focus on developing their skills and expertise.
Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with the following qualifications will be given preference:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant (US) certification.
  • Experience in detail review of tax returns and knowledge of CCh Axcess Tax, Gofile room, Case ware.
  • Relevant experience of more than 5+ years in financial services returns.
