Lead DFT Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a senior Digital Fault Tolerance (DFT) engineer to lead the design and implementation of testability features for complex System-on-Chip (SoC) and Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) designs.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of digital circuit design, fault simulation, and automated test equipment (ATE) pattern generation. They will also have excellent leadership skills, with experience in mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Drive DFT architecture planning and implementation for multiple SoC/ASIC projects.
  • Lead implementation and verification of DFT features such as scan insertion, ATPG pattern generation, and boundary scan.
  • Collaborate with RTL, STA, PD, and test engineering teams for seamless integration.
  • Develop and maintain DFT automation scripts and infrastructure.
  • Own DFT signoff, timing closure, and ATE pattern delivery.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or VLSI Design.
  • 8+ years of experience in DFT for complex ASIC or SoC designs.
  • Expertise in scan insertion, compression, ATPG, MBIST, and boundary scan.
  • Hands-on experience with DFT tools such as Synopsys: DFT Compiler, TetraMAX, TestMAX.
  • Strong knowledge of RTL design, STA, and synthesis flows.
  • Proficient in scripting languages (Python, Perl, Tcl) for flow automation.
