About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Support Administrator to join our team at Pythian. As a key member of our global support team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our customers across various cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Stay current with new technologies and best practices, promoting them within the team and to other technical leads.
  • Mentor team members and help them grow in their careers.
  • Collaborate on long-term roadmaps for the team, aligning with Pythian's goals.
  • Promote consistency and unity across Pythian by working closely with other Technical Leads and sharing knowledge.
  • Stay informed of news related to our clients' technologies, summarizing relevant items promptly and concisely.
  • Research and provide advice on complex problems faced by Pythian and our clients.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding and expertise in GCP, with experience in managing large-scale infrastructures on cloud, hybrid, and on-premise environments.
  • Able to understand GCP Billing and provide suggestions to customers on costing.
  • Strong experience in identity and access management solutions in GCP.
  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar) with experience in version control tools like Git.
  • Experience working on Kubernetes clusters, with knowledge of GKE architecture and components.
  • Able to find the root cause of issues using Cloud Logging and provide a fix to prevent future occurrences.
  • Knowledge of BigQuery, Cloud Functions, App Engine, and GCP Virtual Private Cloud expertise.
  • Able to understand Cloud Networking, Firewall, routes, and VPC Network peering.
  • Experience with GCP cloud-native services, including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Load Balancer, Cloud Monitoring, and Disks.
  • Solid understanding of system administration fundamentals, with a Linux focus.
  • TCP/IP networking, NIC teaming, and network services configuration.
  • Administration of web servers and supporting technologies, including Apache and Nginx.
  • Strong understanding of multiple monitoring solutions and how to implement and manage them.
  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to work solo or as part of a team as required.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, or similar).
  • Scripting and automation of administrative tasks using Shell scripting or Python.
  • Prior experience working in a managed services environment or mid-to-large corporate enterprise IT environment, in either systems administration or engineering role.
  • Experience working with one or more hardware virtualization platforms, such as VMware or Hyper-V.
