Job Title: Financial Strategist

About This Role:

We are seeking a skilled Financial Strategist to lead our Finance function for upcoming Gateway hotels in India. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing property-wide strategies that meet or exceed the needs of our target customers and employees.

This role provides financial expertise to enable the successful implementation of our brand service strategy and initiatives while maximizing return on investment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute business plans to improve profitability, including cost estimation and benefit exploration.
  • Analyze financial data, forecast sales against expenses, and create annual budget plans.
  • Compile information, analyze, and monitor actual sales against projected sales.
  • Identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down data into separate parts.
  • Think creatively and practically to develop, execute, and implement new business strategies.
  • Create the annual operating budget for the property.
  • Provide analytical support during budget reviews to identify cost-saving and productivity opportunities for property managers.
  • Implement controls to manage business risks.
  • Ensure strong accounting and operational control environments to safeguard assets, improve operations, and profitability.
  • Analyze financial data and market trends.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive annual business plan aligned with company and brand strategic direction.
  • Provide ongoing analytical support by monitoring the operating department's actual and projected sales.
  • Produce accurate forecasts that enable operations to react to changes in the business.
Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others.
  • Communicate strategic goals, focus, and owner priorities to subordinates.
  • Leverage functional leadership and communication skills to influence executive teams and property strategies.
  • Oversee internal, external, and regulatory audit processes.
  • Provide excellent leadership by assigning team members and other departments' clear accountability backed by appropriate authority.
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals with direct reports according to Standard Operating Procedures.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting preferably with hotel industry.
