Credit Risk Management Professional

 

Job Purpose:

To lead and manage the credit evaluation and control function, ensuring timely collection of receivables, minimizing credit risk, and maintaining healthy cash flow while supporting business growth and customer relationships.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of experienced credit controllers across head office and regional offices to drive efficiency and effectiveness in credit operations.
  • Define and implement credit control procedures (Credit limits, policies) and strategies to manage divisional credit exposure, mitigating potential risks.
  • Establish governance mechanisms and define KPIs for performance monitoring of the credit evaluation and control function, ensuring data-driven decision-making.

 

Cash Flow & Financial Coordination:

  • Liaise with finance function to ensure healthy cash flow for the division, driving Return on Capital Employed (ROCE) and working capital optimization.
  • Receivables forecasting accuracy and reduction in Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).

 

Reporting & Analytics:

  • Define and maintain dashboards and reports for leadership, RSMs, and ZSMs to enable informed decision-making.
  • Publish relevant reports and factsheets as per leadership requirements, providing actionable insights.

 

Operational Oversight:

  • Coach and support the credit evaluation and control team in managing day-to-day activities using Accounts Receivable solution, ensuring seamless process execution.
  • Expedite collection of doubtful debts through defined escalation workflow and timely exception handling.

 

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, analytical mindset, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, fostering collaboration and innovation.

 

This role requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with various stakeholders, including finance, sales, and customer service teams, promoting transparency and trust.
