Manual QA Tester Position

We are seeking a skilled Manual QA Tester to join our team at Ishan Technologies.

  • We require someone with experience in manual testing, focusing on web and mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Requirement Analysis & Test Planning: Review and analyze software requirements to design detailed and structured test plans and test cases.
  • Manual Test Execution: Conduct functional, regression, UI, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) across multiple platforms.
  • Defect Management: Identify, document, and track defects using tools like JIRA or Bugzilla, ensuring clear reproduction steps and accurate statuses.
  • Test Documentation: Maintain and update test artifacts—such as test plans, test cases, checklists, and test reports—to facilitate traceability and transparency.
  • Agile Participation: Actively engage in Agile/scrum ceremonies to align testing efforts with development cycles.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and QA leads to clarify requirements, replicate issues, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Risk & Impact Analysis: Evaluate the implications of new features and changes on existing functionality to prioritize testing effectively.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of focused manual testing experience across web and/or mobile applications.
  • Proficiency in formalizing test documentation—test plans, cases, checklists, and test reports.
  • Experience using defect tracking tools like JIRA or Bugzilla with strong defect logging and tracking capabilities.
  • A strong understanding of SDLC and STLC, and familiarity with Agile (Scrum/Kanban) workflows.
  • Exceptional analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication to articulate issues clearly and collaborate effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or SOAP UI for manual verification of backend services.
  • Exposure to SQL or basic database validation techniques.
  • Familiarity with mobile testing (iOS/Android) and using device debugging tools such as ADB or Charles Proxy.
  • ISTQB or other relevant QA certification.
  • Knowledge of performance or security testing tools would add value.
