Senior Site Reliability Engineer

The Role

This critical position involves adopting infrastructure changes, maintaining and enhancing the backbone of cloud infrastructure. You will leverage your deep understanding of core infrastructure components and technologies such as base images, container orchestration, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP to ensure robust, scalable, and optimized infrastructure for performance and cost.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaboration and Planning: Work closely with engineering and product teams to adopt infrastructure changes, contribute to infrastructure planning, capacity management, and architectural improvements.
  • Infrastructure Optimization: Develop strategies to enhance consumption interface, performance, scalability, and reliability of cloud infrastructure.
  • Software Development: Develop software solutions, design processes for usability of infrastructure resources, increasing efficiency and reducing manual overhead.
  • Monitoring and Incident Response: Implement comprehensive monitoring solutions to proactively identify and address issues, lead incident response efforts minimizing impact on service availability and performance.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Serve as a subject matter expert in infrastructure technologies and practices.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8+ years experience in site reliability engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a closely related field, managing complex cloud-based infrastructure at scale and system administration.
  • Advanced technical expertise in designing large-scale systems and infrastructure solutions, deep understanding of cloud platforms, container orchestration, and infrastructure as code.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud services, DevOps tooling, automation platforms.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages, writing production-level code integrating into complex systems.
  • Proven ability to lead high-level technical projects, drive innovation, mentor junior engineers.
  • A strong understanding of software development principles, agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience working with cloud-based services, managed services, IaaS, PaaS.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, leading incident response efforts, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong technical leadership skills, managing teams influencing technical decisions.
