Lam Research is seeking a highly skilled Lead Chemical Safety and Hygiene Manager to join our team in India.


Job Summary


We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in chemical safety and hygiene to manage our chemical safety and hygiene program at Lam India. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, managing chemical inventory, and providing guidance on required personal protective equipment (PPE) and risk reduction measures.


Key Responsibilities



  • Manage the chemical safety and hygiene plan, including all aspects related to chemical safety, chemical exposure monitoring, exposure threshold limit determinations, risk mitigation, and incident response;
  • Manage regulatory permits related to toxic chemical storage, handling, and use; interface with agency officials and submit permit deliverables to agency; ensure compliance with permit conditions;
  • Oversee and review facility operational plans for chemical change procedures, chemical vessel movement and management, and chemical storage compatibility;
  • Implement industrial hygiene programs, including laboratory safety, chemical safety, respiratory protection, bloodborne pathogen, hearing protection, risk & hazard mitigation, and radiation exposure control;
  • Maintain chemical inventory and ensure chemical storage onsite does not exceed permitted quantities;
  • Reviews requests to use new chemicals or changes in chemical use and provide guidance on required PPE, risk reduction, and impacts to regulatory requirements;
  • Conducts qualitative and quantitative exposure assessments for chemical, physical, and biological hazards; conducts confined space monitoring and manages confined space permit programs;
  • Compiles and manages data to produce reports for regulatory agencies and in response to customer requests for information;
  • Manages Hazard Communication program at Lam India;
  • Provides in-person training and informational reports to various sized groups and stakeholders;

Requirements



  • At least 5 years of EHS experience in chemical safety or process safety management;
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field;
  • Understanding of chemical safety practices, preferably in a laboratory or semi-conductor industry environment;
  • Strong knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations and requirements in India;
  • Ability to travel overseas on a limited basis for training;
  • Professional EHS certifications desirable;
  • Fluent in English;

  • Exceptional root cause and corrective/preventive action development skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, manage by influence, and drive results;
  • Self-motivated and needs little supervision;

Estimated Salary Range


$120,000 - $180,000 per annum.
