Lead Specialist Job Description

Job Summary:

This is a senior role that requires overseeing approved fund expenses, associated accruals, reviewing total expense ratio calculations, and monitoring quarterly movements.

About the Position:

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring SLAs are met, adopting a 'right first time' approach to work, maintaining all fund expense data with 100% accuracy, acting as a senior peer reviewer of work items, and approving payments processing.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Own and drive BAU fund expense/invoicing tasks, ensuring timely delivery and accuracy.
  • Adopt a rigorous approach to your work, prioritizing quality over speed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date fund expense data, ensuring new additions or changes are thoroughly checked.
  • Review and approve work items, ensuring they meet required standards.
  • Manage relationships with service providers, escalating and reporting on issues as necessary.
  • Oversee TER reporting, ensuring timely delivery and accuracy.
  • Develop fund budgets for new funds and calculate termination buffers.
  • Prepare quarterly movement reports for the fund expense committee.
  • Estimate ongoing charge calculations for new share classes and perform max fee checks.
  • Communicate accrual updates to relevant parties.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in the funds/asset management sector.
  • Strong understanding of fund management principles.
  • Education: MBA/CFA/FRM is an added advantage.
  • Experience working with funds or asset management, including core operations such as fund accounting, middle office, and transfer agency.
  • Practical knowledge of various asset classes, including securities, loans, derivatives, and pooled funds.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple deliverables, and prioritize tasks effectively.
