Senior Accountant and Team Lead Job

We are looking for a skilled professional to lead our accounting team in Malappuram, India. This role requires expertise in Australian accounting, payroll, and operations management.

  • Lead and mentor a team of accountants/bookkeepers to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Manage full-cycle bookkeeping including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
  • Process payroll for employees, ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Prepare and lodge reports as per requirements
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies
  • Support financial analysis and liaise with auditors when required
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure timely submission of documentation

Key Responsibilities:

  1. To lead the accounting team and guide them in performing their duties efficiently.
  2. To manage the entire bookkeeping process from accounts payable to bank reconciliations.
  3. To process payroll for employees and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  4. To prepare and submit reports on time and as per requirements.
  5. To maintain a high level of compliance with regulatory bodies and industry standards.
  6. To collaborate with other teams to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  7. To provide support in financial analysis and work closely with auditors when required.
  8. To implement strong internal controls and ensure timely submission of all documentation.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 3–6 years of experience in Australian bookkeeping, payroll, and accounting operations.
  • Proven experience in team leadership with the ability to guide and mentor staff.
  • Proficiency in Xero or similar accounting software.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting compliance.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Certificate IV in Accounting & Bookkeeping or equivalent qualification (preferred).
