We are seeking a skilled Linux Infrastructure Automation Specialist

About the Job

This position requires an experienced professional with a strong background in Linux infrastructure engineering, system automation, and OS lifecycle management.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Ansible, Python, Packer, Kickstart, and OpenSCAP, as well as a deep understanding of CIS/STIG hardening standards and their application in automated pipelines.

Key responsibilities include architecting and implementing fully automated pipelines for building, upgrading, and certifying Linux operating systems, designing and automating image builds using Packer and Kickstart, and integrating CIS/STIG compliance hardening and OpenSCAP scanning into image lifecycles and validation workflows.

Main Responsibilities

  • Design and implement automated pipelines for Linux OS lifecycle management
  • Automate image builds using Packer and Kickstart
  • Integrate CIS/STIG compliance hardening and OpenSCAP scanning into image lifecycles and validation workflows
  • Own and manage kernel module/driver automation
  • Collaborate with platform, SRE, and security teams to standardize image build and deployment practices
  • Maintain GitOps-compliant infrastructure-as-code repositories
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in Linux infrastructure engineering, system automation, and OS lifecycle management
  • Strong understanding of CIS/STIG hardening standards and their application in automated pipelines
  • Hands-on experience with Ansible, Python, Packer, Kickstart, and OpenSCAP

Bonus Skills

  • Familiarity with image signing, SBOM generation, or secure boot workflows
  • Experience working in regulated or compliance-heavy environments (e.g., FedRAMP, PCI-DSS)
