Staff IT Audit Consultant Job Description

The firm is seeking a Staff IT Audit Consultant to join their team. This role involves working closely with senior consultants and managers to identify client needs and service opportunities in assurance, advisory, risk and compliance services.

The ideal candidate will have experience working as an auditor or risk advisor for a CA firm, a professional services firm or financial services company. They will also have significant experience with auditing IT General Controls and Business Process Controls.

Key responsibilities include participating in planning activities, owning growth and service delivery of engagements, working with clients to execute the engagement, designing and executing high-quality audit procedures, and assisting in building audit methodology.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving the firm's image and level of service. They will be required to work autonomously, take initiative to improve relationships and processes, and demonstrate strong project management skills.

Requirements include a bachelor's degree and minimum two (2) years of related work experience or a graduate degree and approximately one to two (1-2) years of related work experience. A Chartered Accountant who is a member of the ICAI is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in planning activities to identify client needs/service opportunities in assurance, advisory, risk and compliance services.
  • Own growth and service delivery (planning, execution, and reporting) of engagements and work closely with supervisors and clients to coordinate efforts on engagements to include, but not limited to, System and Organization Controls (SOC) Examinations, PCI DSS Assessments, HITRUST Assessments, IT Audits in support of the financial audits, internal audit engagements, pre and post implementation assessments, and issuance of reports issued under the AICPA Consulting and Attestation Standards.
  • Work with clients to execute the engagement, with a focus on leveraging industry and functional insights from our advisory business to bring greater value to client.
  • Design and execute high-quality, integrated and efficient audit procedures.
  • Assist in and contribute towards building audit methodology, working paper guidelines, quality review standards, and communication protocols.

  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written, with clients and team members.
  • Collaboration with other members of the engagement team to plan the engagement and develop work program timelines, risk assessments, budgets and other planning documents.
  • Leadership to lead the engagement team to ensure quality workpapers and deliverables, provide regular status updates, and adhere to a project timeline.
  • Demonstrate and apply a detailed and thorough understanding of standards, regulations and information systems.
  • Strong project management skills, maintaining the culture of teamwork, the project timelines and quality of deliverables.
