Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the Pastry Shop, ensuring seamless delivery of pastries and desserts according to established standards.
  • Collaborate with senior chefs to develop innovative pastry creations that meet our high-quality standards.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting, minimize food waste, and maintain precise inventory control.
  • Responsible for setup and presentation of pastry displays across various buffets.
  • Adhere to strict food safety regulations and exercise meticulous cleaning protocols to prevent equipment damage.
  • Guarantee the galley is prepared for inspections at all times.
  • Coordinate transportation and requisitioning of necessary items from main stores to the pastry shop when assigned.
  • Monitor recipes and yields to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Support senior chefs with completing the daily pastry consumption report as requested.
  • Aware of shipboard operating procedures and able to address guest inquiries efficiently.
  • Participate in regular meetings, training sessions, and other work-related activities.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of three years' experience as a Pastry Cook in upscale hotels, resorts, cruise ships, or convention banqueting services.
  • Extensive knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, equipment use, and requirements.
  • Completion of high school or basic education equivalency requirement.
