Pastry Specialist Role
We are seeking a skilled Pastry Specialist to join our culinary team. As a Pastry Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of pastry and dessert menu items according to provided recipes and photos.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare high-quality pastry and dessert products according to recipes and visual guidelines.
- Operate assigned station in the pastry galley, performing tasks as required by the Pastry Chef.
- Oversee production of pastries and desserts, including setting up displays on buffets as needed.
- Assist with transportation of food items from main stores to the pastry galley.
- Clean and sanitize working areas and utensils following health and safety regulations.
- Perform early standby duties in the pastry galley as required.
- Comply with standard operating procedures and assist guests and crew members with inquiries.
- Attend meetings, training sessions, and other work-related activities as required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum two years' experience as a Pastry Cook in an upscale hotel, resort, or cruise ship environment (shipboard experience preferred).
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, equipment usage, and high school education or equivalent.
