Job Description:

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Network Security Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Network Reliability Engineering (NRE) Security Operations (SecOps) expert, you will be responsible for designing and implementing network security strategies and platforms for Marriott International's global networks.

This role requires close collaboration with a matrix team of network architects and engineers to drive the adoption of NRE practices and operating models across all network product towers, globally.

You will articulate and execute a vision to address increasing complexity, scale of modern IT systems, and ensure real-time asset visibility, assessment, remediation, and access control to Marriott services.

This position is accountable for establishing technical-level relationships and partnering with business disciplines, other teams, solution providers/vendors, and operational partners to define and implement the Network NRE zero-trust security roadmap, building and enforcing standards defined in it.

Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain timely submission of reports ensuring delivery deadlines are met.
  2. Promote accurate documentation of project progress.
  3. Provide input and assistance to other teams regarding projects.
Key Requirements:
  • 6+ years' experience with network security tools-related products.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting zero-trust security tools.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing policies in mentioned tools.
  • Cloud computing platform experience (e.g., Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure).
  • Knowledge and experience in Wireshark/tcpdump/nmap analysis techniques.
  • Developing, documenting, and managing requirements gathering process.
  • Familiarity with foundational data networking technologies (ARP, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS).
  • TACACS+, RADIUS understanding.
  • Agile methodologies experience.
  • Common routing and switching platforms experience (Cisco, Juniper, HP/Aruba).
  • Load Balancing knowledge (ELBs, NLBs, F5 BigIP).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience managing network security tools in hospitality industry.
  • Leveraging public APIs for automation scripts.
  • Product certifications (CCIE, PCNSE, FMSE).
  • Team player with cross-functional team collaboration experience.
  • Emerging technology research and synthesis into clear roadmaps.
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to overcome barriers.
