Job Title:

Lead Tax Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and prepare complex tax returns for financial services clients.
  • Detailed review of State returns to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify international filing requirements by studying organizational charts and reviewing international tax returns.
  • Train and supervise team members on tax concepts, technology, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to understand client needs and resolve conflicts.
  • Guide staff on potential tax adjustments due to changes in tax laws.
  • Recruit, train, evaluate, and mentor team members.
  • Maintain connections with colleagues to ensure timely delivery and high-quality results through continuous learning.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Conduct independent tax research.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Ability to learn new tax software.
  • Quick learner, enthusiastic attitude, and team player.
  • Ability to work extended hours during busy seasons.
  • Meet deadlines and prioritize tasks based on project urgency.
  • Skilled at multitasking and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective training and supervision skills.
  • Able to guide subordinates through technical challenges.

Position Requirements:

  • Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant (US) certification.
  • Experience in detailed tax return reviews.
  • Knowledge of CCh Axcess Tax, Gofile room, and Case ware.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience, preferably in financial services returns.
