Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced API Gateway Professional to join our team. This individual will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining API solutions using Axway API Gateway.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Design system requirements, generate software/hardware performance specifications, and lead the evaluation, design, and integration of all enhancements or new releases of the system.
  • Lead process improvements, procedures, and policies relating to systems functioning and performance.
  • Meet with management teams and vendors on planning, upgrading, testing, securing, and servicing IT solutions.
  • Implement architecturally compliant system landscapes.
  • Develop, modify, test, implement, document, and maintain systems software and hardware.
  • Troubleshoot server, operating system, and infrastructure problems.
  • Monitor systems and networks for viruses, malfunctions, and errors.
  • Prepare network analytics, data reports, and operational manuals.
  • Perform troubleshooting and remediation, ensure successful project implementation, and provide post-project end-user support.
  • Manage project timelines, documentation, and train the engineering team on new systems, protocols, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Experience with various API gateways, including global deployments of application architecture.
  • Ability to advise application teams on developing high-quality APIs that comply with architectural and security standards.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve complex API design and integration issues.
  • Broad understanding of web service implementation paradigms (REST, SOAP), WSDL, Swagger, and integrated development environments (e.g., Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code).
  • Ability to develop and execute remediation plans to meet API security requirements.
  • Strong understanding of API security mechanism implementations and HA design strategies.
  • Good knowledge of version control tools (e.g., Git) and CI/CD practices.
  • Monitor API traffic and troubleshoot issues related to performance, security, and availability.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with designing, developing, implementing, and managing APIs.

  • 2+ years of experience working within an agile team (Scrum, Jira, Rally, etc.)
