About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Senior User Interface Designer to join our team at InCommon. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for crafting exceptional user experiences and delivering high-quality design solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Workshop Planning: Design and structure workshops effectively, setting objectives, creating agendas, and selecting relevant activities or exercises.
  2. Time Management: Keep workshops on track, ensuring discussions stay focused and all key topics are covered within the allocated time.
  3. Group Dynamics Management: Manage different personalities in the room, ensuring active participation from everyone, and resolving conflicts or dominant voices in discussions.
  4. Guiding Conversations: Lead discussions to help participants focus on business goals, challenges, and user needs without going off-topic or into irrelevant details.
  5. Understanding Business Needs: Listen attentively to identify the underlying business problems, goals, and constraints customers face.
  6. Empathy: Demonstrate an ability to understand the customer's perspective, challenges, and concerns, and respond thoughtfully.
  7. Clarifying Questions: Ask insightful, clarifying questions to dig deeper into customer feedback and gain a fuller understanding of their business.
  8. Clear Explanation: Explain design concepts, processes, and technical ideas in simple, non-jargon language that aligns with the business's understanding.
  9. Verbal and Visual Communication: Use both verbal explanations and visual aids to convey ideas effectively.
  10. Presenting Ideas: Confidently present information, summarize key points, and ensure that clients understand the value of design thinking in solving their business challenges.
  11. Understanding Business Goals: Comprehend the customer's industry, market position, competition, and long-term goals to tailor design solutions accordingly.
  12. Synthesizing Information: Take large amounts of input from different stakeholders and distill it into clear insights, key problems, and actionable objectives.
  13. Building Trust: Establish a rapport with clients and make them feel comfortable sharing information about their business, challenges, and goals.
  14. Managing Tensions: Skillfully navigate tense or difficult conversations and maintain a constructive, solution-oriented atmosphere throughout the workshop.
Requirements
  1. Visual Design: Exceptional user interface design skills with a deep understanding of color theory & layouts and how they influence decision making.
  2. Motion Design: Good understanding of motion design and hands-on experience with Lottie animations.
  3. Graphics Design: Knowledge of where to use what graphics and the ability to use AI tools when needed.
  4. Experience: Experience with Adobe Suite and Figma.
