Job Opportunity: Performance Support Engineer

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and resolving complex technical issues, focusing on performance and instance availability. This includes being the last point of escalation within the technical support department.

This is a customer-facing role that requires strong interpersonal skills in addition to strong technical skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot outages or enhance performance on the platform by utilizing tools like BigData, Splunk, and Grafana to analyze metrics and identify trends on transactional throughput, memory, CPU, job processing, and disk utilization.
  • Directly optimize the database, add indexes, maintain tables and data, and understand execution plans to recommend better-formed queries.
  • Review Java application code to identify and fix performance concerns.
  • Bridge the gap between the customer and internal teams (Development, Infrastructure, Networking, Hardware) to reproduce performance issues and find root cause analysis.

Experience with relational databases (e.g. MySQL, Oracle) is required, along with Java experience and knowledge of object-oriented design principles and memory management.

Scripting language expertise, preferably JavaScript, is also necessary, as well as advanced Unix/Linux experience and the ability to analyze java heap dumps and thread dumps.
