Job Summary:

As a Firewall Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of firewall systems. Your primary goal will be to ensure the secure operation of our network infrastructure by identifying and resolving issues related to firewalls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor firewall and network security alerts to identify potential threats
  • Perform initial analysis and basic troubleshooting of reported incidents
  • Open, track, and manage tickets using IT service management tools
  • Apply basic firewall rule changes under guidance from senior engineers
  • Handle access requests and perform rule verification to ensure compliance with established policies
  • Escalate complex incidents to Level 2 or Level 3 support teams as necessary

Level 1 (L1) Support:

Our ideal candidate will have a good understanding of TCP/IP, NAT, VPN, and routing protocols. Experience with major firewall vendors such as Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Cisco ASA/Firepower, or Check Point is highly desirable. Familiarity with security protocols like IPSec, SSL/TLS, and scripting languages like Bash, Python, or PowerShell is also a plus.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Good understanding of networking fundamentals and firewall technologies
  • Experience with one or more major firewall vendors
  • Familiarity with security protocols and network monitoring platforms
  • Basic scripting knowledge (Bash, Python, or PowerShell)
