Electromagnetic Compatibility Specialist

The role of the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) specialist is crucial in ensuring that electronic products comply with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement EMC protection schemes for electronic devices and systems.
  • Analyze schematics and circuit board layouts to ensure adherence to EMC design practices.
  • Formulate system and circuit board level EMC protection strategies, including filtering and shielding.
  • Conduct EMC testing and analysis to assess electromagnetic emissions and susceptibility.
  • Analyze test results and recommend design modifications to achieve compliance.
Mandatory Skills
  • Extensive experience in performance of EMI/EMC analyses and testing is required.
  • Familiarity with Automotive EMC/EMI test standards, requirements, test methods, and setup/performance of testing.
  • Experience in digital and analog circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout process.
  • Proficiency in simulations through functional and logical models and system analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscillators, signal generators, and EMC chambers.
  • Knowledge of RF and EMC standards like FCC, CISPR-25, ECE-R10, AIS-004, IEC, EN.
  • Ability to work independently or in teams and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
Additional Qualifications
  • Sound problem-solving skills are necessary.
  • Strong knowledge in ECUs driving brushed DC motors is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of passenger vehicle EE architecture is also beneficial.
