Job Title: Visual Effects Compositing Specialist About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Visual Effects Compositing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our VFX department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Nuke scripts, tools, and workflows to improve compositing efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Script Development: Design, develop, and maintain Nuke scripts, tools, and workflows to enhance compositing efficiency.
  • Pipeline Integration: Ensure seamless integration of Nuke with other VFX pipeline tools such as Maya, Houdini, and Kitsu.
  • Bottleneck Analysis: Identify pipeline bottlenecks and propose automation solutions to optimize performance.
  • Technical Assistance: Provide technical support to compositing artists in solving complex Nuke-related challenges.
  • Script Optimization: Debug and optimize scripts to enhance performance and render efficiency.
  • Automated Solutions: Develop automated solutions for repetitive compositing tasks to increase productivity.
  • Standardization: Implement best practices for script organization and standardization across the team.
  • Compatibility: Maintain compatibility with various software to ensure smooth data flow between departments.
  • Training and Documentation: Conduct training sessions to upskill artists on advanced Nuke techniques and custom tools, and create and maintain documentation for in-house scripts, tools, and workflow procedures.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with compositing supervisors, VFX supervisors, and pipeline developers to align technical solutions with creative requirements.
  • Industry Trends: Stay updated with the latest Nuke advancements, plugins, and industry trends, and explore and test new technologies, including AI-driven solutions, to enhance compositing workflows.

  • Efficiency improvement in compositing workflow (measured by artist feedback and time saved).
  • Number of technical issues resolved within set timeframes.
  • Adoption rate of newly developed tools and scripts by artists.
  • Reduction in rendering errors and memory-related crashes.
  • Quality and accuracy of documentation and training materials.
  • Implementation of innovative solutions that enhance production efficiency.
