Role Description:

This position supports the Ecological team in providing desk-based environmental reports to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out ecological desk studies, including data analysis and species identification.
  • Undertake high-level environmental constraints studies.
  • Collate data for preliminary ecological appraisal.
  • Identify habitat types and species distributions.
  • Calculate habitat losses and gains.
  • Prepare supporting information for investigations of protected species.
  • Support data analysis and report preparation within the team.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Appropriate academic qualification in ecology, environmental science, or related field.
  • Basic knowledge of environmental management standards and national/global biodiversity conventions.
  • Experience in ecological consultancy or biodiversity conservation.
  • Good understanding of taxonomic classification and basic ornithology knowledge.
  • Understanding of North American bat species.
