Video Software Development Manager Role

This leadership role focuses on creating and managing complex video processing features. A strong backend software development background is required, with emphasis on distributed systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop scalable solutions for real-time video streaming and transcoding using modern technologies like Python, Java or Go.
  • Collaborate with the team to design and implement innovative video compression algorithms and optimized workflows.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new features.
  • Lead a team of engineers to create high-performance, reliable and maintainable systems.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in backend software development, with expertise in distributed systems and video processing.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Java, or Go.
  • Extensive knowledge of video codecs (H.264, H.265, VP9, AV1), multimedia frameworks and cloud media services.
  • Experience as a technical lead and ability to manage complex projects.
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture, API design and performance optimization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Understanding of DRM, video watermarking and security best practices.
  • Contributions to open-source multimedia projects.
