Terraform Automation Engineer (Cisco SD-WAN)

A seasoned automation professional is required to manage Cisco SD-WAN deployments across multiple data centers and branch offices. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in infrastructure and network automation, with a focus on Terraform and Cisco SD-WAN.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and Optimization: Conduct a thorough review of the Terraform codebase for Cisco SD-WAN deployments, assessing configuration templates, policies, automation workflows, and state management practices.
  • Best Practice Recommendations: Provide actionable recommendations for best practices and deliver a comprehensive review report with findings.
  • Remote Knowledge Transfer: Facilitate remote knowledge transfer sessions with the client's technical team to ensure seamless collaboration.
Requirements:
  • Terraform Expertise: Strong hands-on expertise with Terraform, including modules, variables, templates, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) workflows.
  • Cisco SD-WAN Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Cisco SD-WAN components, including vManage, vSmart, vBond, device templates, and policies.
  • State Management: Ability to evaluate and optimize state management strategies, including remote backends, locking, and workspaces.
  • CI/CD Integration: Experience integrating Terraform with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and version control systems, such as Git, SharePoint, and Azure DevOps.
  • Network Automation: Familiarity with network automation best practices and SD-WAN deployment models.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, analytical, and communication skills for effective remote collaboration and client interaction.
Experience:
  • Infrastructure Automation: 7+ years of experience in infrastructure automation and network automation engineering roles.
  • Terraform Expertise: 3+ years of proven hands-on experience with Terraform in production environments.
  • Cisco SD-WAN Experience: Practical experience with Cisco SD-WAN automation, templates, and policies.
  • Enterprise Experience: Prior exposure to enterprise-scale multi-site WAN deployments is highly desirable.
