Lead Controls Assurance Specialist

This role is responsible for supporting the development of testing methodology for critical key controls across a global business.

The Lead Controls Assurance Specialist will focus on assurance activities over resiliency material and critical controls testing, with potential to move into other operational risk domains.

The specialist will be responsible for developing and executing controls testing plans, communicating gaps in controls, and monitoring them in line with risk management processes.

This involves collaboration with other assurance functions across different lines of defense.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support the Controls Assurance Manager in identifying and prioritizing testing activities as part of the assurance planning process.
  • Plan and execute control tests, including coordinating review processes with stakeholders, managing control testing analysts, reviewing quality of work, and ensuring alignment with the assurance testing methodology.
  • Prepare draft reports reflecting results of work performed and advise the business on appropriate solutions and remediation activities, engaging other 2LOD and subject matter experts in agreeing action plans.
  • Present results to senior management to gain buy-in and agreement to action.
  • Coordinate activities throughout the review lifecycle with senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Data Analytics teams to identify opportunities for converting manual testing into analytics-based testing and continuous assurance activity.

Qualifications:
  • Educated to degree level.
  • 4+ years' experience in information security controls assurance or IT audit (Big 4 and/or internal audit experience desirable).
  • An understanding of IT systems and operations.
  • Experienced performing controls testing.
  • Experience of data analytics or continuous monitoring.
  • Experience in working in a multinational environment.
