About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Data Center Operations Engineer to join our team in India. As a Data Center Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers, including electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.

Job Summary

This is a challenging role that requires strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills. You will work closely with our engineering teams to ensure that all systems are operating within contract parameters.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the data center, including electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as checking equipment, replacing filters, and performing preventive maintenance.
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to system failures, outages, or other disruptions.
  • Work with vendors to resolve issues and ensure that all work performed is in accordance with established practices and local legislation.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, such as procedures, policies, and reports.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure that all aspects of data center operations are running smoothly.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in data center operations and on-call support.
  • An undergraduate degree in a technical field (EE, Mech E, Industrial E).
  • Excellent understanding of mission critical systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Previous vendor negotiation and management skills.
  • Ability to write and review accurate and complete support procedures and issue tracking entries.
  • Show good judgment and instincts in decision making under pressure.
  • Able to demonstrate ability to take ownership of technical issues brought to him/her by his/her customer base.
