Investment Officer Role Overview

This position involves leading the investment strategy and overseeing the entire investment process from sourcing to execution.

  • Sourcing & Thesis:
    • Develop and maintain a high-quality deal pipeline across various stages, including seed, early, and later-stage deals.
    • Create and refresh thematic investment theses focusing on fintech, SaaS, consumer internet, logistics, and AI-enabled operations.
    • Leverage personal networks to identify non-obvious investment opportunities.
    • Promote the company at industry events and engage with founders through small-format circles.
  • Evaluation & IC Prep:
    • Conduct initial screens and in-depth evaluations of market traction, team dynamics, and financial models.
    • Prepare Investment Memos outlining clear investment theses, risks, mitigants, and decision checkpoints.
    • Coordinate with the Investment Committee to ensure efficient evaluation processes.
  • Diligence Leadership (LDD/FDD/Tech/Commercial):
    • Define diligence scope and manage external partners for Legal Due Diligence (LDD) and Financial Due Diligence (FDD).
    • Compile diligence findings and provide go/no-go recommendations with practical remedies and terms.
  • Transaction Execution:
    • Support term sheet design and valuation rationale aligned with founder-friendly principles.
    • Coordinate with counsel on definitive documents and ensure smooth transaction closures.
  • Portfolio Support & Follow-ons:
    • Onboard portfolio companies into the advisor network and drive targeted support services.
    • Monitor portfolio health and track key performance indicators.
    • Prepare follow-on investment cases and manage co-investor communications.
  • Finance, Reporting & Ops:
    • Partner with finance on allocation tracking, compliance, and record-keeping.
    • Maintain a tidy pipeline CRM and report on funnel metrics and cadence SLAs.
