Project Manager Job Description

A project manager is a professional responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of projects within strict deadlines and budget. This role involves leading internal teams and third-party contractors or consultants to achieve strategic goals.

• Manage client expectations, communication, and delivery on a daily basis.
• Own the project and its deliverables ensuring completion, direct communication with clients and stakeholders, defining project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, estimate resources and participants needed, oversee the project lifecycle using defined methodologies.
• Prepare and submit budget proposals, update financial forecasts, recommend budget changes as necessary while planning, scheduling, and tracking project timelines, milestones, and resources.
• Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations ensuring clear and consistent communication channels.
• Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, devise contingency plans, documenting all blockers, changes, and risks, maintaining a centralized tracker accessible to the client.
• Define project success criteria, conduct project post-mortems, create recommendation reports to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
• Utilize tools such as Confluence for documentation, ensuring all project meetings are documented, necessary parties are notified, collaborate with QA to plan and execute project demos.
• Address blockers with the internal team to keep the project on track, ensuring all team members have necessary access to resources, send out client status reports summarizing project work, budget status, changes, risks, and action items.
• Understand cross-platform/project requirements and dependencies, collaborating with other Project Managers, conduct weekly internal meetings to review concerns and issues with leadership and planning.
• Own the release management process, ensuring alignment with project timelines and business objectives, oversee planning, execution, and post-release activities.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration among teams to ensure smooth and efficient release processes, conducting release readiness reviews, providing regular updates to stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Direct work experience in a project management capacity including all aspects of process development and execution on the SFCC platform.
• Strong familiarity with project management and release management software, such as Microsoft Project, ServiceNOW, JIRA, or similar tools.
• Solid working knowledge of current IT technologies across a broad range of solutions with a focus on release management processes and methodologies.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal and operational skill sets to facilitate collaboration across teams.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment managing both project and release schedules.
• Extensive experience with project management practices and tools to create, manage, and track project performance, deliverables, and outcomes including release cycles.
• Proven ability to lead a team and drive projects to completion ensuring successful release deployments.
• Ability to lead development/implementation teams coordinating release activities and ensuring alignment with project timelines and business objectives.
• Experience in conducting release readiness reviews, milestone reviews, and managing post-release activities.
• Skilled in facilitating communication and collaboration for efficient release processes, monitoring and reporting on release progress.
• Experience in implementing and improving release management processes and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
