Senior UX Strategist Job Summary

The Senior UX Strategist will lead the User Experience team to create intuitive, engaging, and cohesive user experiences across all digital products. This role involves managing a team of UX designers and researchers, collaborating with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to deliver user-centric designs that drive product success and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of UX designers and researchers.
    • Foster a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive team culture.
    • Identify skill gaps and provide training and professional development opportunities.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • UX Strategy and Vision
    • Define and implement UX strategies aligned with business goals and user needs.
    • Develop and maintain UX standards and best practices.
    • Advocate for user-centered design principles across the organization.
    • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Project Management
    • Oversee UX design projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes
    • Coordinate with product managers to prioritize UX tasks and allocate resources effectively
    • Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables
    • Ensure UX processes are integrated into the overall product development lifecycle.
  • User Research and Testing
    • Oversee user research activities, including user interviews, surveys, usability testing, and analytics
    • Ensure user insights are translated into actionable design improvements
    • Monitor and analyze user feedback and behaviour to inform design decisions.
  • Design Execution
    • Provide guidance and feedback on design work, ensuring it meets quality standards and user needs
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and marketing, to ensure cohesive and consistent user experiences
    • Advocate for the user throughout the design and development process
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executive leadership, to promote UX goals and initiatives.
    • Communicate UX concepts, design rationale, and the value of user-centered design to non-UX audiences.
    • Represent the UX team in cross-functional meetings and strategic planning sessions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in UX Design, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in UX design with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven track record of managing and mentoring UX teams.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing UX design and research projects.
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, InVision, etc.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments is a plus.
  • Experience in Automobile/ gaming industry or type of product relevant to the company, e.g., SaaS, e-commerce, mobile apps.
  • Knowledge of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
  • Certification in UX design or related areas.
