Job Role

The role of a Design Engineer is to oversee tasks related to design engineering, mechanical engineering, computer-aided design (CAD), electrical engineering and product design.

  • Preparation of general layout drawings for process equipment is essential.
  • Creating bills of materials for procurement & fabrication requires strong organizational skills.
  • Drawing revisions as per manufacturing & customer feedback demands attention to detail.
  • Creating 2D and 3D models of process equipment using CAD tools is a key responsibility.
  • Working effectively with cross-functional teams including project managers and manufacturing personnel is crucial.
Key Skills
  • Hands-on experience with software such as Auto-CAD and Solid Edge is required.
  • The ability to create detailed fabrication drawings is essential.
  • Preparing material take-offs on projects based upon drawings, plans and specifications is a must.
  • Good knowledge and hands-on experience of drawing presentation, critical dimensioning, view presentations and parts list preparation are necessary.
  • Must have knowledge of manufacturing processes like laser cutting, bending, welding and basic machining.
  • Good knowledge and hands-on experience on advanced assemblies and layouts with GD&T, surface finishes, welding details and engineering notes is required.
  • Working knowledge of SAP system is beneficial.
  • Experience in making GA layouts will be an added advantage.
  • At least 1+ years of hands-on experience in Solid Edge is preferred.
