Vetting Lead

As a key member of the V Group team, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vetting Lead to join our team. This role will be responsible for promoting a strong, proactive safety culture within the company, ensuring compliance with relevant legislative, operational, and client-driven standards.

• Act as the primary interface between the BU Cluster and Group management on Vetting issues.
• Provide specialist advice on all marine and operational matters, promoting and supporting the development of effective professional working partnerships between Senior Officers onboard vessels and the ship management team ashore.
• Deliver against all Group programs, campaigns, objectives, and projects that support achievement of Vetting performance, Group KPI's, and delivers additional local value.
• Ensure BU Cluster performance data is proactively analysed and utilised to inform effective, data-driven decisions to enhance performance.
• Oversight of local compliance with Vetting-related legislative, operational, client-driven, and internal standards.
• Act as HSSEQ lead for external audits and internal assurance program, incorporating commercial standards (TMSA, DryBMS etc.).
• Support the BU Cluster HSSEQ Manager for external audits and internal assurance program, incorporating industry standards (ISM, ISO, ISPS etc.).
• Undertake, report, and manage actions arising from required inspection, providing an oversight of on-board safety and vessel management.
• Support the BU Cluster HSSEQ Manager for BU Cluster investigations of Accidents, Incidents & HiLo Near Misses, where required.
• Support BU Cluster emergency response activities in actual and simulated emergency scenarios.
• Ensure local production and publication of relevant Vetting-related Bulletins and Alerts that will address findings, highlight Lessons Learnt, and deliver improvement opportunities.
• Identify opportunities for growth & development of the Vetting function, to ensure capabilities and means of delivery are continually improved.
• Monitor local industry & legislative developments to support Group HSSEQ in ensuring the Vetting program & operational aspects are evolved to meet future legislative, operational, and strategic demands.

• Recognised Incident Investigator qualification.
• Experience of working with relevant industry Vetting standards and systems (TMSA, OVMSA, DryBMS etc.).
• Experience of interfacing with clients and meeting their demands in relation to implementation and management of Vetting-specific aspects.
• Strong, clear communication skills, especially regarding maintenance of Vetting standards.
• Experience of delivering against needs of various statutory external bodies; Class, Flag etc.
• Significant experience in engaging and collaborating with multinational / multicultural teams.
