Lead Data Engineer Position

The primary role of the Lead Data Engineer is to oversee the development and implementation of data platforms, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and meet business requirements.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead a team of data engineers in delivering projects across multiple client engagements.
  2. Own the end-to-end delivery of cloud-based data solutions, from ingestion to modeling to visualization.
  3. Design and implement data platforms using tools like Databricks, Synapse, Fabric, and Snowflake.
  4. Oversee the development of data pipelines and warehouse structures.
  5. Collaborate with internal and client-side project managers, analysts, and stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives.
  6. Ensure delivery best practices: CI/CD, version control, peer reviews, testing, monitoring, and documentation.
  7. Support pre-sales by providing solution designs, estimates, and technical guidance for proposals.
  8. Allocate resources effectively across projects and track performance metrics, timelines, and deliverables.

Skills Required:

  • 12+ years in data engineering or related fields, with at least 3 decades managing engineering teams in a consulting or service company environment.
  • Proven experience delivering data platform solutions for enterprise clients.
  • Hands-on expertise in at least two of the following:
    • Databricks
    • Azure Synapse Analytics
    • Microsoft Fabric
    • Snowflake
