Lead Oracle Database Expert

The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in database administration, with expertise in installation and upgrades. They will also have experience working with various teams to resolve performance issues.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Expert-level understanding of database architecture
  • Experience working with teams to resolve performance issues (development, storage administrators, network administrators, system administrators, and business users)
  • Specialized knowledge of RAC, with a good understanding of the complexity of RAC architecture across servers, OS, network, and storage layers
  • Exposure to working on engineered systems, including Exadata, SSC boxes, and ExaCM
  • Strong SQL tuning skills and experience refactoring SQL queries to improve performance
  • Ability to diagnose performance issues from SQL to application to database to system to storage
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to traverse across infrastructure layers to diagnose issues
  • Expertise in HA features of databases
  • Complete understanding of database backup and recovery options
  • Ability to work under pressure in production environments on databases across all flavors of OS
Requirements:
  • 18+ years of experience in database administration
  • Prior working experience in Telecom or BFSI companies
  • Mandatory skills: RAC (installation, upgradation, and management), database backup and recovery, DB migration, and performance tuning
