Data Governance Specialist

We are seeking an expert in data governance to lead our team in delivering data-enabled business solutions.

About the Role

This is a critical position that requires strong analytical and technical skills to develop and implement data governance strategies across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
  • Analyze and document business processes and data requirements.
  • Capture complex data design and business process metadata.
  • Buid a backlog of data improvements and quick wins for governance councils.
Data Management & Quality:
  • Map critical data elements against business processes.
  • Collaborate on logical data models supporting business capabilities.
  • Embed data governance into business processes.
  • Ensure metadata is captured, curated, and maintained (F.A.I.R. – Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable).
Data Enablement:
  • Analyze, document, and orchestrate fit-for-purpose data for business innovation.
  • Work with data architects, engineers, scientists, and analytics teams to prepare data for business use.
  • Collaborate with analytics teams to improve and publish KPI metrics on adoption.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Orchestrate support for data issues across departments.
  • Manage relationships with business stakeholders.
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and opportunities.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay updated on trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Adapt data governance processes to evolving needs.
  • Support change management, training, and data literacy efforts.
People Management:

Guide and manage data governance specialists to coordinate data governance across departments.

Business Objectives:
  • Deliver business-driven data governance solutions.
  • Improve data quality and consistency.
  • Enhance data accessibility and usability.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field (MBA/Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years in large-scale data management and business transformation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expertise in data analysis, architecture, management, quality, AI, or related disciplines.
  • 7+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, or related fields.
  • Familiarity with data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical) and data governance tools.
  • Experience in the industry or a related field.
