Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

The primary role of a Senior Data Engineer is to oversee the development and maintenance of data governance tools and technologies that support enterprise-wide data governance initiatives.

This position requires a deep understanding of data management principles, including data cataloging, metadata management, and data lineage. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with popular data governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica, and Alation.

A key responsibility of this role is to enable business users to search and understand information by developing standard business glossaries and data dictionaries. This involves integrating metadata stores across various data sources and developing custom integrations between data governance tools and different data stores.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for implementing solutions for data cataloging, workflow management, and data quality tracking. Additionally, they will work closely with stakeholders to identify and align on workable business solutions to data privacy requirements and challenges.

To be successful in this role, you will need strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related fields or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience utilizing tools like Collibra, Informatica, Alation, etc. to implement data governance programs
  • 5+ years of experience in data management space under any area
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven ability to work with business stakeholders and leaders to identify and align on workable business solutions to data privacy requirements and challenges
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection
  • Demonstrated consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies
