Senior Backend Development Lead

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Backend Development Lead to oversee the development and implementation of full-stack applications, ensuring technical excellence and architectural scalability.

About the Role

As a Senior Backend Development Lead, you will be responsible for leading the backend architecture and development efforts, guiding a team of engineers, and delivering high-performance applications. Your expertise in modern PHP frameworks, such as Laravel, will enable you to architect scalable, secure, and maintainable systems. You will also manage system integrations via REST APIs, GraphQL, EDI, and third-party services.

Responsibilities
  • Lead backend development using Laravel and modern PHP frameworks
  • Architect scalable, secure, and maintainable systems
  • Manage system integrations via REST APIs, GraphQL, EDI, and third-party services
  • Oversee projects involving Magento, WordPress, Shopify, and related stacks
  • Conduct code reviews, mentor developers, and implement best practices
  • Collaborate with product, design, frontend, and DevOps teams for end-to-end delivery
  • Ensure performance optimization, code quality, and effective documentation
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5-7 years of backend development experience in PHP, with deep expertise in Laravel
  • Experience working with Magento, WordPress, and Shopify
  • Strong background in system integrations using APIs (REST, GraphQL), EDI, and webhooks
  • Proficiency in:
  • PHP, Laravel, Java
  • ReactJS, Node.js
  • MySQL, NoSQL, MongoDB
  • CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and version control (Git)
  • Cloud platforms, especially AWS
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and excellent team collaboration skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to handle multiple clients
  • Flexibility to work in a small company
