Product Category Director

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead the development and execution of our product category strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business management, analytical skills, and experience in vendor negotiations.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive product category strategy aligned with consumer trends and market demands.
  • Analyze sales data and market research to identify growth opportunities and optimize product assortment.
  • Maintain ownership of the product category P&L, ensuring profitability and efficiency.
Category Development:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute product campaigns, promotions, and seasonal collections.
  • Evaluate and negotiate vendor terms, pricing, and supply commitments to drive business value.
  • Oversee the onboarding of new brands and products, ensuring seamless integration into our operations.
Performance Management:
  • Monitor daily sales, stock levels, and category performance metrics, taking corrective actions when necessary.
  • Conduct regular competitive analysis to benchmark pricing, product assortment, and category trends.
  • Provide insights to inform business decisions and drive strategic growth.
Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of experience in product management, buying/merchandising, or business strategy (preferably in e-commerce, retail, FMCG, or quick commerce).
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth and improving profitability.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and data analysis tools.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or Postgraduate in Business, Marketing, or Retail Management.
  • Prior experience in non-apparel categories such as beauty, electronics, or FMCG.
  • Exposure to fast-paced startups, e-commerce platforms, or retail companies.
