As a Lead Process Engineer, you will be responsible for supervising and leading a team of engineers under broad direction. Your technical expertise will guide the group, ensuring employee performance appraisals are conducted and junior professionals are coached and developed.

You will plan, budget, organize, and control an engineering program of moderate scope, overseeing a measurable asset such as staff and resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • You will develop Process Design Basis and Design Philosophies based on the scope of work.
  • Phenol and Cumene experience is required to execute FEED jobs in Petrochemical fields.
  • You will review and perform Process Simulations and guide Process Engineers to develop Heat & Mass Balance as required.
  • Experience in developing PFDs, PSFDs, P&IDs, C&EDs, Safe charts is essential.
  • Proven skills in routine process calculations (hydraulics and sizing) and the use of process software and in-house developed spreadsheets are necessary.
  • Experience in Process control configurations and ESD systems, equipment designs such as separators, pumps, compressors, gas treatment units is required.
  • Experience in engineering and design of facilities involving Fired Heaters, Heat Exchangers, Columns is preferred.
  • Experience with Steam, Instrument air, Plant air, Nitrogen, Fuel gas/oil systems, Water systems (Cooling water, Chilled water, Potable water treatments, DM water, Wastewater) Design is necessary.
  • You should be familiar with Steam balance.
  • You should be conversant with Compressor hydraulics.
  • Experience in performing relief valve and flare load calculations is essential.
  • You will develop utility balance, UFD, and summary for all utilities of a process plant.
  • Knowledge in offsites which includes tank farm, boilers, and power generation is necessary.
  • Knowledge of engineering practices, calculation methods, international standards, codes, specifications, and procedures is essential.
  • You will carry out all planning, scheduling, and coordination required to execute a project.
  • You will coordinate with peers and sub-ordinates involved from other engineering Depts.
  • You will identify and mitigate risks related to performance guarantees, vendor packages scope etc Review of vendor offers, preparation of technical bid analysis is required.
  • Evaluates Vendor / Consultant/Licensor offers for Process Packages / Equipment, Specialized Process Engineering Studies etc.
  • You should be familiar with routine safety studies like HAZOP, HAZID, SIL etc.
  • Knowledge of Pre commissioning / Commissioning / Operations is an added advantage.
  • You should have good report writing skills.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with 20 to 25 years of experience is required.
  • Proficient in process engineering softwares (HYSYS, Flarenet, Pipenet, Pipesim) is necessary.
  • Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Experience in the fields of Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, refinery, Offshore, and Utilities & Offsites related to industry is necessary.
