Job Overview

The role of the Vice President, Finance is pivotal in driving the company's financial strategy and ensuring robust operations.

This position oversees key aspects including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, regulatory compliance, internal controls, audit management, compliance collaboration, treasury operations, payroll and vendor payments, risk evaluation, and providing strategic financial insights to the leadership team and board.

A comprehensive understanding of fintech companies, blockchain transactions, digital asset accounting, and custody mechanisms is essential for this role. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing statutory and regulatory audits, as well as experience collaborating with tier 1 audit firms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning and Reporting: Develop, oversee, and continuously improve financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements across jurisdictions, manage regulatory reporting, and collaborate with compliance and legal teams.
  • Internal Controls: Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes aligned with crypto asset flows.
  • Audit Management: Oversee periodic audits—statutory, internal, regulatory—and serve as the primary point of contact for auditors.
  • Compliance Collaboration: Collaborate closely with compliance and legal teams on AML, KYC, tax, and regulatory filings.
  • Treasury Operations: Lead treasury operations including liquidity management, crypto wallet oversight, exchange accounts, and banking relationships.
  • Payroll and Vendor Payments: Oversee payroll, vendor payments, revenue recognition, and financial operations.
  • Risk Evaluation: Continuously evaluate financial and operational risks, ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Strategic Insights: Provide timely, actionable financial insights to inform strategic decisions.
Requirements
  • Finance Experience: At least 10 years of progressive finance experience, preferably in fintech or payments companies.
  • Crypto Knowledge: Strong understanding of crypto markets, blockchain transactions, digital asset accounting, and custody mechanisms is highly desirable.
  • Regulatory Frameworks: Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory frameworks applicable to fintech firms (e.g., VASP, FATF guidelines, FIU reports).
  • Audit Experience: Demonstrated experience managing statutory and regulatory audits, with a history of collaboration with top-tier audit firms.
  • Leadership Style: Proven ability to lead effectively within fast-paced environments with limited resources.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with external regulators, partners, and internal teams.
  • Certifications: Holding relevant certifications such as CA / CPA/ ACCA, with CFA certification being a plus.

  • Crypto Payment Experience: Experience working with crypto payment or infrastructure space would be beneficial.
  • Multijurisdictional Licensing: Familiarity with obtaining licenses across multiple jurisdictions (e.g., DIFC, MAS, EU MiCA).
  • UAE Tax Accounting: Understanding of UAE tax accounting and cross-border payments framework would be advantageous.
