Dark Web Cybersecurity Specialist

This role involves monitoring dark web channels, analyzing threat actor behaviors, and supporting intelligence operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in conducting in-depth cybercrime investigations, producing analytical reports, and collaborating with global teams.

Key responsibilities include discovering, monitoring, and triaging underground forums, dark web marketplaces, instant messaging channels, and social media platforms to identify potential cybercrime or threat activities. Additionally, the candidate will analyze potential cybercrime activities to detect serious threats and research emerging trends.

  • Conduct advanced threat research to identify motivations, goals, targets, capabilities, and modus operandi of cyber threat actors and groups using conventional and unconventional methods.
  • Collate threat research findings into actionable intelligence deliverables for dissemination to clients.
  • Provide incident management and threat research support to clients globally.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for information exchange and joint research initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity concepts, modern threat landscapes, and intelligence frameworks.
  • Knowledge of cybercrime methodologies and tactics used by financially motivated and state-sponsored threat actors.
  • Experience in online persona management (sock puppets) for gathering closed-source information from underground forums.
  • Strong background in open-source intelligence (OSINT) research.
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills for producing high-quality intelligence reports.
  • Hands-on experience with OSINT tools such as Maltego, Shodan, Google Earth, Whois, Search Engines, VirusTotal, or similar.
  • Good understanding of operational security (OPSEC) principles and practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with global teams.
