About This Role
This position is responsible for leading a team of developers in the implementation of new or revised application systems and programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java development and be able to provide technical oversight across systems and applications.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of developers to ensure timely completion of projects
- Oversee the process for technical issue escalation and resolution
- Collaborate with the Technology team to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs
Requirements:
- 8-12 years of relevant experience
- Commercial software development experience on JVM based language (Java)
- Good understanding of lightweight web technologies (REST endpoints, web-sockets, JSON , gRPC ), and micro-services in a service-orientated ecosystem
- Familiarity with modern OO and functional programming practices
- Familiar with different persistent storage technologies such as RDBMS and NoSQL
- Experience working with source code management tools - Git or Bitbucket
- Good understanding of clean coding principles
- Must demonstrate strong familiarity of design patterns
- Experience system analysis and in programming of software applications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of Equity Derivatives technology or experience with other asset classes within Markets
- Knowledge of Equity Derivatives products and product lifecycle
- Experience working with UI frameworks such as React or Angular
- Experience working with OpenShift / Kubernetes or other Cloud platforms
- Experience of applying TDD and BDD practices and maintaining clean CI/CD pipelines
Education:
- Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
