The company is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the Site Reliability Engineering team.

About the Role

The role requires ensuring the stability, scalability, and operational excellence of Accounting and Finance platforms.

  • Operational Oversight: The candidate will be responsible for day-to-day operations for Accounting and Finance applications and data platforms.
  • Reliability & Availability: The Principal Engineer will ensure that Accounting and Finance platforms meet defined SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs for performance, reliability, and uptime.
  • Automation & Efficiency: Automation tools will be built for deployments, monitoring, scaling, and self-healing capabilities.
  • Observability & Monitoring: Comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and logging will be implemented and maintained for accounting applications and data pipelines.
  • Incident Response: On-call rotations will be led and participated in, root cause analysis performed, and improvements driven to prevent recurrence of production issues.
  • Operational Excellence: Best practices for capacity planning, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and compliance controls will be established and enforced.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 12-15 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Production Engineering, preferably supporting financial or mission-critical applications.
  • Strong experience with monitoring/observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake, dbt, and financial system integrations from an operational support perspective.
  • Strong scripting/programming skills for automation and tooling.
  • A proven ability to manage incident response and conduct blameless postmortems.
