Job Overview

The Process Simulations and OTS Design Engineer plays a pivotal role in developing and validating process simulations using tools such as Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, Aspen EDR, Aspen Adsorption, and HTRI. This position requires hands-on experience in simulation projects and a strong understanding of separation technologies including distillation, extraction, evaporation, chemical reactions, adsorption, pervaporation, etc.

  • Develop and validate process simulations using various software tools to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Model building, tuning, and integration of models in OTS software and other applications to achieve precise results.
  • Simulate all normal operations, including hot or cold start-up and complete or partial shutdown operations, to ensure smooth functioning.
  • Attain steady state and dynamic simulation for various processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Perform detailed heat and mass balance (HMB) calculations and hydraulic analysis across various process systems to optimize efficiency.
  • Execute equipment sizing for unit operations such as distillation columns, heat exchangers, evaporators, separators, and pumps to ensure proper fitment.
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline with implementation experience in simulation software like Petro-Sim, MIMIC, OmegaLand, UniSim Design, ASPEN HYSYS, DYNSIM, Aspen-Dynamics, Aveva, Promax, or similar.
  • Design to commissioning experience on simulation projects, including process modeling, DCS integration, OTS, scenario training, model testing, FAT, MAT, PDET (Post data equalization tests), and documentation generation.
  • Evaluate engineering documents such as process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, Equipment Data Sheets, C&Es, unit process dynamics to develop simulations of complex processes.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in automation systems in the Chemical, Petro-chemical, Oil And Gas, and Pharmaceutical domain.
  • Generating documentation such as FDS, DDS, MAT, and FAT procedures.

Preferred skills include closed-loop control, MVC tuning concepts, APC, and MES.
