Internal Control Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Internal Control Specialist to conduct independent reviews of internal controls and ensure timely implementation of control processes.

  • This role involves assessing risk, identifying opportunities for process simplification and automation, and implementing effective risk management strategies across functional areas.
  • The successful candidate will have a strong background in internal audit, accounting, and internal control roles with at least 4 years of experience in a Big 4 environment.
  • You will possess excellent English communication skills and the ability to perform process audits and month-end close reviews independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Independent On-Site Reviews: Conduct thorough on-site reviews of internal controls to identify strengths and weaknesses, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process simplification, standardization, and automation to strengthen internal controls and reduce inefficiencies.
  • Risk Assessment and Management: Assess all areas of risk and implement complete and effective risk management strategies across functional areas.
  • Statutory Reporting: Facilitate the completion of mandatory statutory/corporate/Asia reporting requirements, such as quarterly attestation and semi-annual balance sheet reviews.
  • Support Operational Audits: Assist location management teams with operational and financial audits by preparing responses, liaising with auditors, and closing deficiencies.

Requirements:

  • At least 4 years of experience in a Big 4 environment with a strong background in internal audit, accounting, and internal control roles.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform process audits and month-end close reviews independently.
