About This Opportunity:

We are seeking an expert in biology to work on exciting projects that will help refine large language models.

The ideal candidate should have a solid foundation in biology, particularly at the PhD level. They should be able to break down complex biological concepts into simple explanations and work efficiently.

  • The project will involve designing and solving challenging biology problems to probe the limitations of large language models.
  • Developing high-quality, step-by-step solutions with clear and rigorous reasoning is crucial.
  • Candidates will collaborate with LLM researchers to align problem types with evaluation goals, especially in areas where models typically struggle (e.g., conceptual abstraction, multi-step reasoning, and data interpretation).
  • Contributing to defining new evaluation benchmarks based on biology curricula spanning to PhD-level topics is a key responsibility.

Requirements:

Candidates pursuing a Ph.D./Postdoctoral degree in biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, or a related field are eligible and encouraged to apply.

  • Good research and analytical skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and detailed annotations is also required.
  • Creative and lateral thinking abilities are necessary for analyzing and solving complex biological problems.
