Job Description:

Hitachi Storage SMEs are required to manage the day-to-day administration of SAN and storage environments.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Hitachi Mid-Range and Enterprise storages operations support, including storage pool creation, zoning via CISCO SAN Switches, and troubleshooting skills.

Detailed Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage infrastructure events
  • Perform capacity analysis and track existing storage usage trending
  • Investigate and diagnose raised problem(s) or problem records for root cause analysis

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 8 years+ experience in handling majority of activities mentioned in the scope above
  • Experience in handling Hitachi storages and Brocade switches infrastructure
  • Exposure to Operations and Management activities on Hitachi Storage(s), Unified compute platforms, various Host O/S including basic cluster management

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with Customer's storage support teams
  2. Participate in problem solving and troubleshooting for the assigned task(s), functional area(s) or project(s)
  3. Support the design, operation, workflow and issue resolution for the storage infrastructure

Infrastructure Events:

  • Capacity Management
  • Monitor storage subsystem and SAN switch capacity

Problem Resolution:

  • Preliminary Problem diagnosis and documentation
  • Coordinate with Hitachi Global Support for Incident resolution

Investigation and Diagnosis:

  • Root cause analysis
  • Necessary storage infrastructure maintenance in accordance with best practices from Hitachi Global Support and Company change management policies

Mentorship and Training:

  • Mentor and train junior admins

Performance Management:

  • Perform capacity tuning; provide remediation recommendation

IT Service Continuity Management:

  • Responsible for providing Disaster Recovery solutions as it relates to SAN and NAS storage by developing and maintaining a library of procedures for disaster recovery documentation
