Senior Legal and Compliance Professional

We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal and Compliance professional to support our organization in Belgaum, India. This role will be responsible for reviewing contracts, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies, and providing advice on a wide range of legal matters.
Key Responsibilities:- Contract Review & Drafting:
- Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, including supplier agreements, vendor contracts, client agreements, service agreements, and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).
- Ensure contracts comply with organizational policies and applicable laws.
- Assist in the development of standard contract templates and processes.
- Work closely with business teams and advise on day-to-day issues and concerns with client agreements.
- Compliance Support:
- Monitor and ensure the organization's adherence to regulatory and legal requirements across various jurisdictions.
- Assist in conducting internal compliance audits and risk assessments.
- Support the development and implementation of compliance programs, policies, and training materials.
- Advise on corporate governance, data protection, and regulatory compliance.
- Legal Research & Advisory:
- Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Provide advice and recommendations on legal risks and compliance matters to internal stakeholders.
- Assist senior legal counsel and legal team in preparing legal opinions and reports.
- General Legal Support:
- Assist in corporate governance matters, including board meeting minutes and regulatory filings.
- Support the legal team with dispute resolution, litigation, and other legal matters as required.
- Handle general legal administrative tasks, including maintaining contract databases and records.
- LLB or equivalent degree.
- 4-6 years of experience in a law firm or in-house experience.
- Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Problem-solving skills and detail-oriented.
- Good communication (written and verbal) and strong interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of contract laws and commercial agreements.
