Key Position Overview:

This is a highly skilled technical role accountable for delivering high-quality IT infrastructure support to guarantee the availability, stability, and performance of datacentres, platforms, and corporate systems.

Responsibilities and Objectives:

  • Manage and secure AIX servers, including hardware management and maintenance
  • Administer SAN and storage array management, backup, replication, high-availability technologies and recovery strategies
  • Ensure uptime service level agreements are met by managing and resolving issue logs and performing scheduled maintenance tasks
  • Monitor system performance, capacity, and growth to meet performance service level agreements
  • Implement security projects, conduct risk assessments, and develop guidelines for new and existing systems
  • Participate in annual business continuity and disaster recovery tests and document resilience and backup plans for all new builds

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified or equivalent industry certifications and relevant experience
  • Expertise in AIX operating system administration
  • Knowledge of automation scripting languages
  • A keen interest in and knowledge of latest server and storage technologies
  • Experience with successfully implemented infrastructure projects
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
