Overview

We are seeking an experienced Azure Lead MS-SQL DBA to handle the design, implementation, and maintenance of Microsoft SQL Server databases within the Azure cloud environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure data high availability, performance, and security for various applications.
  • Provision, configure, and manage Azure SQL Databases, Managed Instances, and SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines.
  • Design, implement, and monitor HA/DR strategies such as Always On Availability Groups, geo-replication, and failover groups to ensure business continuity and data resilience.
  • Plan and execute robust backup and restore operations, validate recovery procedures, and ensure compliance with Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO).
  • Monitor database performance using Azure Monitor, SQL Insights, and Query Store. Identify and resolve bottlenecks by optimizing queries, indexes, and resource allocation.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 8 years of working experience on Azure MS-SQL database.
  • Candidate should be working as a Lead Admin and act as the single point of contact for all Azure and on-prem MS-SQL Database and Cloud Admin activities.
  • Hands-on experience with managing Oracle OCI or Azure VM, Network and Security.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL (T-SQL).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Azure cloud platform services, particularly Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and Azure Virtual Machines.
  • Experience in designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server databases within the Azure cloud environment.
  • Proficiency in performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with automation tools and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Azure CLI).
